State Center is located on Highway 30 approximately 20 minutes west of Marshalltown and 25 minutes east of Ames Iowa where Iowa State University is located and 50 minutes NE of Des Moines. West Marshall school district is made up of six different communities with State Center being the largest with approximately 1,200 people.
